Car for radioactive waste Specialized vehicle for transportation of ionizing radiation sources and radioactive sources. The specialized vehicle ensures the safety of cargo containers with radioactive sources and biological protection of personnel, meets the requirements, rules and agreements on the transport of dangerous goods and radioactive substances. The car reliably protects the personnel and the environment from the harmful effects of PAP during their transportation. Vehicles for transporting solid waste and sources of ionizing radiation are additionally equipped with an internal steel body made of stainless steel, which significantly reduces the power of gamma radiation. Radioactive sources are placed in special transport and packaging capsules before loading on machines, which provide both radiation safety and protection of PAP from mechanical impact. The special vehicle can be completed with various additional equipment at the request of the Customer.

A car for transporting radioactive waste

The car for transportation of radioactive waste is intended for transportation of dangerous liquid or solid substances from places of accumulation to places of utilization.

Containers for radioactive waste provide:

safety of passengers and drivers due to the organization of biological protection of the interior of the cabin during operation, maintenance and repair of special vehicles;
transportation of necessary auxiliary equipment;
alarm in case of unauthorized access to the car;
control of radiation levels in the cabin;
remote control of the location of vehicles;
warning road users about the transport of hazardous radioactive waste with the help of special signs and light alarms.

To maximize the safety of personnel, the radioactive waste container is separated from the cab, which has a 5 mm thick lead sheet barrier on the rear wall, and the free cavities are filled with material with maximum noise absorption.

The driver's cab is equipped with a dosimeter with an external detector. The main unit is mounted inside the cabin, the outer - for biological protection outside on the rear compartment of the cabin. This device monitors the radiation dose and in case of its excess signals the driver.

The car with the container for transportation of liquid radioactive waste is equipped with special sensors of opening of doors in salon and an independent siren. The roof of the cabin, as a rule, is equipped with light-signal beacons, which demonstrate to passing cars about the possible danger. Beacons are fixed with magnets. The front part of the cabin in the place of the state registration mark is equipped with an information plate with the designation of radioactive materials. The engine compartment of the car includes units for the autonomous fire extinguishing system.

Special transport provides a system of protection against electric shocks of electric or atmospheric type, both in the process of movement and in the parking lot. The car is equipped with additional equipment and tools at the request of the customer.
