Operational pyrotechnic vehicles (hereinafter referred to as OPVs) are special vehicles that are designed on the basis of passenger and cargo-passenger vehicles with increased cross-country ability and are designed to ensure the prompt arrival of pyrotechnic personnel to the locations of explosive objects (hereinafter referred to as EODs), and to transport special property and equipment.

A car with a 4×4 wheel formula meets the basic technical requirements for specialized vehicles used by units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Functional purpose of the OPM:

• prompt delivery by road of all categories of pyrotechnics, special property and equipment to the places of detection of GNP;
• fencing of dangerous areas and places where illegal mining activities are detected and conducting search operations for illegal mining activities;
• notification of the population about the detection and neutralization of explosive devices, transmission of special light and sound signals, commands and messages within a radius of up to 500 m;
• cutting steel sheets, strips and other metal structures;
• organization of radio communication in the VHF (KH) -band with the use of a base radio station at a distance of at least 20 km and portable - at a distance of at least 3 km;
• carrying out work to detect GNP at a depth of up to 6 m;
• lighting of places where work is carried out to search for GNP.
